Overview
The design of afforestation and seedling forests in the first area of Block 9 in the Xiong’an New Area was based on the principles of science as the core, economic efficiency as the basis, and landscape as the characteristics. Bearing in mind the goal of constructing ecological civilization, demonstrating ecological engineering technique, promoting scientific research on ecology, and creating ecological landscape, ZEHO ECO created a thousand-year forest with characteristics of the Baiyangdian area in North China.
Highlights
① We analyzed the base and micro-topography and matched them with seedling characteristics to determine the type of tree species suitable for different forests. We also simulated the characteristics of near-natural forest communities in the transitional area between the city and the mountains to build dynamic spatial and temporal community structures.
② In Xiong’an, every tree has its identity. The QR code is their ID. Their full life cycle is traceable on smart platform made with high tech, such as big data, blockchain, cloud computing, etc.
Results
